Belgrad Ormanları

Yürüyüş ve koşu, bölgede yapılabilecek birçok rahatlatıcı aktiviteden sadece ikisidir. Adını Kanuni Sultan Süleyman’ın Sırp seferinden dönüşünde getirdiği Belgrad halkının yerleştiği Belgrad köyünden alan bu ormanda tarihi şehir kalıntıları bulunmaktadır.
Su varlıkları açısından oldukça zengin bir coğrafyaya ve keşfedilecek dokuz doğal sit alanına sahiptir. Orman, çok çeşitli hayvanlara ve bitkilere ev sahipliği yapar. Bakımlı bir arazide 2.000’den fazla bitki çeşidine ev sahipliği yapan Atatürk Arboretumu’nu inceleyebilirsiniz. 230 metre yükseklikteki Kartaltepe, 5 bin 300 hektarlık alanıyla bölgenin en yüksek zirvesi. Orman alanındaki ağaçların çoğu meşe, gürgen, kayın ve kestane çeşitleridir.
Muhteşem Valens Su Kemeri’ni ve Osmanlı dönemine ait izleri bölgede görebilirsiniz. Ormanın merkezine yakın küçük bir kasaba olan Bahçeköy’de vakit geçirebilirsiniz. Alternatif olarak piknik alanlarında açık havada yemek yiyebilir ve doğanın tadını çıkarabilirsiniz.
